The Systems Engineer is a highly skilled and capable systems engineer who helps guide client needs by evaluating existing information technology (IT) environment, business processes and requirements, and recommending technology-based solutions that can meet those needs.  In addition, the SE is able to install and configure the most complex IT solutions for the company's clients.

The SE must be technically skilled in enterprise networking, supporting Windows desktop and server operating system technologies, in particular Microsoft Windows 7, 10 and Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 upgrading, implementing, configuring, Exchange 2007/2010/2013 support and/or migration experience to Office and Business 365, Backup and DR Management, VMWare knowledge and experience along with strong knowledge of Cloud Services to support mobility services.

A major requirement for all ATG engineers is to provide outstanding value to all customer engagements, cost-effectively and efficiently implementing new technology and maintaining existing systems. This includes remaining vigilant for opportunities to improve the customer's environment by recommending products and services that will enhance their productivity and profitability.


Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage, maintain, and optimize core IT systems and services including: Active Directory/Exchange, VMWare cluster, SAN, networking, MDT imaging, VPN servers, Failover Clustering and more.
  • Drive business critical projects to migrate on-premises systems and services to the cloud by teaming up with our systems engineers, and working closely with key stakeholders and leveraging vendors and consultants as appropriate.
  • Define and deploy scalable endpoint security solution to ensure workstation and overall network security.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand business needs and translate these in to value-add engineering project work.
  • Respond to questions from callers; remotely assist client end users with technology problems; assist with diagnosing and repairing depot-based computer problems.  
  • Assist clients with VoIP system changes and problems.
  • Assist customer support escalations and cover for others when they are out.
  • As a core infrastructure technology owner this position includes on-call rotation responsibilities to provide highly infrequent but as-needed emergency support.
  • Create and maintain high quality documentation.
  • Provide regular status reports on active projects.
  • Research alternative solutions and make optimal technology recommendations based on business needs and available resources
  • Learn fundamental operations of commonly used software, hardware, and other equipment.
  • Follow standard OpsCenter operating procedures; accurately log all activity using online tracking system.
  • Accept general responsibility for the depot and ensure that it is maintained appropriately, including keeping the depot clean and uncluttered.
  • Enforce all ATG IT policies.
  • Manage the circulation of depot-based resources, such as company software and tools.
  • Attend all company training sessions.
  • Become familiar with available help resources; stay updated on client technology changes or problems.
  • Become familiar with ATG policies, services, and staff.
  • Direct calls to appropriate ATG staff as necessary.
  • Maintain reasonable discipline and decorum in the OpsCenter.
  • Questioning clients patiently about a problem to understand the solution.
  • Diagnosing and solving hardware faults.
  • Solving every problem from an unformatted disk to a major fault on the operating system.
  • Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system.
  • Responding within contracted service level time limits.
  • Using remote access tools to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Explaining procedures to clients.
  • Dealing with several different problems at a time.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


  • Bachelor of Science & Information Technology Degree or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of IT experience
  • Experience with: routing/switching, Demonstrated strong knowledge of routing with technologies 
  • BGP, MPLS, VPN, Spanning Tree, Fabric path, VPC, Multicast
  • Demonstrated knowledge of configuring firewalls
  • Experience with various monitoring tools and understanding the technologies underpinning them 
  • Previous experience with virtualization and use of VSphere or above preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with storage technologies is preferred
  • Strong experience in managing Cisco and Meraki technologies
  • Strong experience with VMWare, Webroot, Symantec, and other networking management tools




  • CCNA, MCSA: Server 2012, VMWare Certified Professional, Microsoft Specialist: Developing MS Azure Solutions (similar experience in other technologies will be considered meeting qualifications)

  • Ability to work responsibly with or without direct supervision.
  • Working knowledge of common operating systems and software applications.
  • Adequate familiarity with equipment found in ATG client locations.


Compensation is commensurate with experience, capabilities and contribution to the company's success, and is negotiated individually. This is a salaried, EXEMPT position.
